On Nov. 16, 2015 three members of the Whitby Therapeutic Touch Practice Group attended a meeting of the Bowmanville Retired Nurses group. We were asked to provide something practical that the approximately 20 women in their 60's, 70's and 80's could take home with them as several are in pain. They were guided through pain removal imagery, feeling energy between their hands, centering and blue bottle imagery. Practitioners demonstrated Therapeutic Touch with two volunteers. Therapeutic Touch Comes to Kingston Hospice
Kingston Hospice is getting their volunteers prepared for their new residential facility, expected to be completed by 2017. Therapeutic Touch is planned to be a part of their care program. On Thursday & Friday, September 10 & 11 five volunteers took the Level 1 workshop with Alison Cooke, RT. They are now keen to practice on family and friends so that they can add Therapeutic Touch to their hospice visits.

The Canadian Hospice and Palliative Care Conference will be in Ottawa, Ontario will be held October 29 to November 1, 2015. The theme is 'New Challenges - New Horizons: Moving Forward'. The Ottawa Therapeutic Touch practice group will be distributing Therapeutic Touch brochures and providing other information. As well, Dr. David Maginley, a chaplain and ATTN member has been invited to do a webinar on Spirituality. On March 25, 2015 a small group from the Whitby Therapeutic Touch Practice Group attended the Huntington Society of Canada Support Group in Whitby. Huntington Disease (HD) is an inherited, progressive brain disorder that affects physical, cognitive, and emotional functions. Support is offered to "individuals with Huntington Disease, persons at-risk, persons who are gene-positive, caregivers and family members". The KoKreative Therapeutic Touch DVD was shown followed by a demonstration of a Therapeutic Touch session. Afterwards all participants received Therapeutic Touch.
